What is Occupational Therapy
School Based Occupational Therapy is designed to enhance the student's ability to fully access and be successful in the learning environment.
Occupational therapists supports academic and non academic outcomes, including working on handwriting or fine motor skills so the child can complete written assignments, helping the child organize him or herself in the environment (including work space and around the desk) social skills, behavior management, recess, participation in sports, self help skills for children with disabilities 3 to 21. Working with the academic team to modify classroom and or adapt learning materials to facilitate successful participation in the school setting.
